The New England QIN-QIO hosted this regional HAI webinar: “VAE Overview; VAPs, VACs and IVACs: What’s an infection preventionist to do?” on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.
The webinar was presented by Mark L. Metersky, MD,Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
After participating in this webinar, participants are able to:
- List evidence-based interventions for prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of surveilling for Infection-related Ventilator-Associated Complications (IVACs) vs. Ventilator-Associated Pneumonias (VAPs)
- Provide the evidence for preventability of Infection-related Ventilator-Associated Complications (IVACs)
